Vera Lohner

Children's Ministry Director

Vera Lohner has been the Children's Ministry Director at Highland UMC since January 2012. She loves coming up with creative ways to teach children about God and the Bible. She has lived in Fort Thomas since August 2010 with her husband Joe and their three kids (Samantha, Joshua and Amelia).

John Hodges-Batzka

Director of Discipleship

John is responsible for small group ministries, adult Sunday School support and adult Christian education. 

Jennifer Heindl

TREASURER & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Jennifer keeps the church's financial records in order and supports the ministry staff as the administrative assistant for the church.

Scott Beach

Youth Minister

Hi, I’m Scott Beach. I’m excited to have fun exploring what it means to help the youth of Highland Methodist follow Christ as teenagers. I grew up in Oklahoma, have a wonderful wife, Sarah, who is in ministry at Westwood UMC in Cincinnati. We have two young children Clifford and Lucy. I am a nerd who enjoys geeking out over board games, Nerf and video games. 

Rhett Li

Director of Choirs

Rhett Lei is a passionate musician who believes in the importance and relevance of classical music. He has conducted the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra and has served on the music staff at the Cincinnati Opera, Nashville Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera. As an educator, he has been an instructor at the University of Cincinnati CCM, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Rhett Lei also regularly judges various youth music competitions in the Midwest and maintains a piano teaching studio in the greater Cincinnati area.

Chris Pinelo

Interim Contemporary Worship Leader

A lifelong member of HUMC, Chris is a professional musician responsible for programming and leading music at the 9:30 Sunday service. He is also a professional communicator, strategist and storyteller, and lives in Fort Thomas with his wife Tasha and three children (Lincoln, Josie and Alex).  @chrispinelo

Cyndy Jones

INTERIM BLUEBIRD CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

A Ft. Thomas native, Cyndy brings her experience of thirty-three years of public school education and seven years at Bluebird. She and her husband Dan are active members at Highland Methodist and she feels blessed to have this opportunity to lead Bluebird Christian Preschool.  

Jeff Hanneken

Custodian

Jeff helps to keep our campus clean and tidy throughout the week.
