On Wednesday, July 15, we will load up trucks, vans, cars, etc. and head down to Owsley County where will participate in several opportunities for mission service.

 

PROJECT 1:  Replace Porch

This home belongs to Robert and Nancy Thompson.   They have asked us to replace boards on the porch floor.  The dimensions are 70” x 44’, 4”.  The joists are probably ok.  There are also 5 4x4x77” high porch posts that need to be replaced.  This home is over 100 years old.  Robert was born in this home. 

 

PROJECT 2:  Betty Bennett would like several things done.

        A.  Small back porch built (4x4 or 5x5).  The steps leading up to the back door are ok and can be reused.  The back door is 45” off the ground.

        B.  House is 34 ft x 24’4”.  The metal underpinning was not put on properly, and needs to be replaced/redone

        C.  Front and back of the 34’ sides need gutters and down spouts.

        D.  She would like a roof over her front door, or possibly front porch deck 10’9” x 8’3”

        E.  Bathroom needs 2=36x8” shelves and brackets over toilets for towels.  (Sue has a medicine cabinet she can give her.)  She also needs towel bars.

        F.  Closet area-needs 65” of wall with door and 5’3” of closet rods on one side and 8’ on another side

        G.  Kitchen Needs (stove, Refrigerator, several cabinets, electric)

 

PROJECT 3:  For those with no carpentry skills

        A.  Work in the thrift store in Booneville

Directions to thrift store:  75 South to 64 East @ Winchester take the mountain Pkwy to the SLADE (Natural Bridge) exit.  Turn Right on 11 South through Beattyville to Booneville about 21 miles to Stop sign @ court house past the Methodist church on the left to Big two story building on the left.  Park at Barbershop on the right.
